Amina Cruz was born and lives in Los Angeles. She hitchhiked around the country before deciding to move to New York City, where she earned her BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design. She also holds a MFA from UCLA. Her interests are based in queer culture, film/analog photography, and exploring the space between transformation and identity.

Erica Nix has been a bright and raucous force in the Austin community for well over a decade. Her performance art, photography, and work as a queer and trans-inclusive, body positive activist and personal trainer is well-documented: from the multitude of activist rallies and demonstrations she’s supported, to her celebrated performance in Erica’s First Holy Shit!, to winning an Austin Critics Table Award in 2016 for best independent project, Best Personal Trainer Award in 2017-2018, Best Exercise Class in 2023, and now (potentially) Austin’s Best Certified Hypnotist in 2025.

Sawyer Stoltz is a writer, performer, producer, and founding member of THIS IS NOT A CULT, a creative collective, with Erica, Jess Gardner, and Jeremy Von Stlib. Credits include This Is Not a Cult Live! and feature length film, Erica's First Holy Shit, which had its world premiere at PRISM 35: aGLIFF's 35th annual LGBTQ+ Film Festival in 2022. CARIBE DE GARGOLAS is a live Afrofuturistic performance world that brings together singing, rapping, movement, and curated visuals from an alternative Cuir Caribbean perspective. In an ode to "Gumbo Ya Ya,” an African oral tradition that lives on through Afrodiasporic cultures and translates to "everyone talking at once," each art form tells its own story, with unique but related timelines that intertwine while utilizing the self-produced AFROCARIBEPUNK as a soundtrack. The performance gets its name from the country sides of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, home to many afro indigenous communities and sites where gargoyles are mythical figures who people believe in and report to have seen. 

Moréna Espiritual is an internationally acclaimed performance artist, musician, dj, and director guided by the blessings of Anacaona ⋆₊°༺❦︎༻°₊⋆ having stepped on his first official stage at the age of 14, the trans artist of afro indigenous descent has been recognized by platforms such as The Atlantic, Harvard Radio, The British Institute of Film, IMER Mexico, and NYU and has been awarded grants from NALAC, Creativity in the UK, and the Lower Manhattan Cultural amongst others.

Enter the colorful world of a queer chosen family of five monsters. These siblings are inseparable, always supporting each other and just trying to make it through each day. What was supposed to be a joyous reunion turns red when an evil being that was unleashed on Ash’s journey tags along. This being is fixated on isolating and killing each of the monsters one by one. Ash is determined to protect their family, fighting back against the relentless foe.

RED NIGHT highlights the helplessness of individualism through the narrative of a slasher film. In typical slasher fashion, victims are pursued and killed when they are on their own, but when the characters are together they are able to counter the seemingly indestructible killer.

Beck+Col are a Los Angeles based artist duo. Through costume-based performance and video, they build alternate universes that are populated by monsters, spawning a counter mythology and queering of existing norms.

Looking through the lenses of three Black art forms—the queer street style of vogue, the Afro-Boricua dance and drumming tradition of bomba, and gospel music—WORLD AFTER THIS ONE uses movement and spoken word to examine how Black people have historically reclaimed the materials of empire to construct portals to impossible futures. Blurring the lines between the secular and sacred, celebration and mourning, the past and the yet-to-pass, WORLD AFTER THIS ONE imagines Black liberation not as a metaphor, but a possibility.

Benji Hart is an interdisciplinary artist, author, and educator whose work centers Black radicalism, queer liberation, and prison abolition. Their performances have been featured at the Steppenwolf Theater (Chicago, 2024); the Poetry Foundation (Chicago, 2023); La Goyco (San Juan, 2022); and Den Frie (Copenhagen, 2021). They were born and raised in Massachusetts, and live and work in Chicago.

Silence exploration of a work in progress that was first presented in PAPAP Festival in the island of Guadaloupe, FR.

Edrimael Delgado Reyes (him/her) is a Black and interdisciplinary dancer with a bachelor's degree in Urban and Performance Studies from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras. Since 2014 he has trained with different schools and dance companies; including Ballets de San Juan, the Cuban Contemporary Dance Company and the ANDANZA school. He also collaborated with the PISO project from 2016-20, the platform that nourished his political vision of movement. He has had the opportunity to present his work in multiple cultural spaces around the Caribbean and the United States, such as the Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance (NY), the DuSable BlackHistory Museum in Chicago, Luis A. Ferré Fine Artes Center in Santurce and the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts in St. Croix, USVI. His most recent work, Juegos de Cariño, was commissioned as part of the Puerto Rico Negro exhibition at the Puerto Rico's Museum of Contemporary Art. At the moment, he is member of the International House of Elle, directed by ICON Stanley DeVaughn, and director of LaBoriVogue; a platform he founded in 2020 for the development and education of Ballroom culture in Puerto Rico, and from which he helps provide spaces of liberation for the LGBTQ+ communities on the island.

Maria Rivera Felizardo (p1nkstar)

Through ILOVEYOU, María uses drag to build experimental multimedia performances exploring experiences growing up queer in a Mexican city led by conservative Catholic values and infested by drug cartel violence.

As a project based in improvisational practices, every ILOVEYOU performance becomes audience-specific and site-specific. In past performances, María usually strips down from large sculptural costuming to undergarments, all while using electronic music equipment to process her vocals into new voices and create sonic landscapes. Simultaneously, María will throw down on DJ decks, dance, perform her teenage poetry or lipsync to pop songs to create a deconstructed narrative. A standard ILOVEYOU performance lands somewhere between drag, sound art, live punk music performance and strip-tease.

María Rivera Felizardo es una performista electrónica, DJ y mujer Trans inmigrante Mexicana. María is more widely known for her multimedia project “p1nkstar” in which she embodies an electronic pop superstar to build utopic horizons for trans+ communities through music, art, nightlife experiences and social media. Now touring internationally, Maria is the first Trans person to receive an Austin Music Award and has received 3 Best of Austin awards for her work in art and nightlife.

Moor Mother

Camae Ayewa, better known by her stage name Moor Mother, has been mixing powerful words and visuals with experimental, noise, rap, punk,  jazz music, and other beats to gift us raw and potent tracks that speak against colonialism and slavery. From the first studio album Fetish Bones (2016) to the latest The Great Bailout (2024), we hear Camae poetry-laden sounds speak to the suffering across time and space, centering Black communities and bringing to light dark moments of their history. Alongside Rasheedah Phillips, Camae is part of the duo Black Quantum Futurism, a practice in theory project that fuses literature and music to explore the possibilities of new futures with time manipulation.

We invite you to learn more about Camae and her work replete with themes about community, memory, and Afrofuturism. Pitchfork has called her “the poet laureate of the apocalypse,” so listen up!

Bobby Pudrido + Solovino

MÁSCARA is a play written and starring Latine transmasculine drag artists, Solovino and Bobby Pudrido, that chronicles the experience of medically transitioning. From hormone replacement therapy to surgery and the societal perceptions that follow, they invite the audience to feel and reflect on the intense emotions of horror, panic, and dread felt on this journey.

The play reinterprets gender-affirming services as destructive, depraved, and obscene. It confronts the process in the way conservatives see it, as mutilation, highlights the societal rejection felt, and delves into the fears faced when embodying the monstrous identity of “man”—something we were once victimized by before our transition. Central to this performance is a question that resonates deeply within the transmasc community: "Do you see me, or do you see a monster?"

Solovino is a trans masc drag king, host, and producer based in Austin. Taking inspiration from horror icons, general buffoonery and his own lived experiences, he hopes to make spaces where the weird and “othered” feel at home.

Bobby Pudrido is a trans, Latine, and lesbian performance artist, emcee, and producer based in Austin, Texas. Bobby is dedicated to amplifying BIPOC queer voices through his work. He creates and produces drag shows, story time events, and various performances aimed at addressing and bridging gaps in representation for marginalized communities.

Lu Coy

Interdisciplinary artist and multi-instrumentalist Lu Coy presents BECOMING THE MOON, a semi-staged song cycle inspired by the profound texts of the Florentine Codex. Commissioned by the Getty Research Institute in 2023, this work combines translations of the 16th century Nahuatl manuscript and original poetry set to music. Coy guides their audience through the aquatic underworlds and fading architectures of trancestral memory, to illuminate the tales of Mexica gods Tecciztecatl and Coyolxauhqui: masculine and feminine faces of the moon. Electronic soundscapes undulate between gentle flute melodies and the fearsome roar of the huehuetl drum. A lone voice is processed into a digitized choir of wrath. Behold the devastation of Tecciztecatl and the monstrous fury of Coyolxauqui on this cosmic journey of gender expansive transformation- through the brutal flames of death, a shimmering resurrection.

LABUAD MEKLOOQ is a live biohacking performance in which mirrored fatality transmutates as labuad meklooqs— a multispecies of beasts, terratoids, and transhumans in their immersive biome ECOCIDE 3URTH. For this immersive installation/performance, mirrored fatality experiments with decolonial regeneration as their voice, wearable sculptures, and movement trigger an industrial and noise live score with vocals in Kapampangan, Urdu, and English. The material pulls from the duo’s album LABUAD MEKLOOQ, released in 2024, and their internationally screened mixed-reality films.

LABUAD MEKLOOQ features creative collaborations with 24+ international Trans, Queer, QTBIPOC, and underground experimental multidisciplinary artists across fashion, prosthetics, mixed-reality visuals, sound art, facilitated movement, and handcrafted noise instruments.

It’s 3034 on ECOCIDE 3URTH and the corpses of natural ecosystems of planet Earth murdered by apathetic humans and artificial intelligence are seeking vengeance. A transmutated species formed from the lava eruption of Mount Pinatubo, a dormant stratovolcano awakened after 500 years on Philippines’ Araw ng Kalayaan during U.S.A’s occupation and the ruins of floods and cyclones of post-partition South Asia after British rule are born - the labuad meklooqs.

Jay Roff-Garcia

REVOLCA'O is an audio-visual performance work exploring themes of migration, belonging, and transformation through costume, projection design, and musical performance. “revolca'o” or “revolcado” means "to roll or flip over.” It can also mean vanquishing an opponent, throwing oneself upon and over a surface, or it can describe an object that has been tumbled and flipped. Part research project and part exploration of relational aesthetics, this one act performance expresses a personal narrative of migration through an abstract theatrical lens.

Jay Roff-Garcia is a Venezuelan non-binary artist and organizer working in Austin, TX. They have previously worked as a chef, art handler and consultant. In 2020 Jay founded Ruido/Noise, a bilingual art organization dedicated to showcasing and supporting artists working in transmedia. As an artist their practice is transmedia based with a focus in performance, food, and installation art. Their work explores worldbuilding and cultural production and has shown at Fusebox Festival, Co-Lab Projects, Uchi, Big Medium, Hyperreal Film Club, Austin Film Society, Licuadora Alternativa, and the Museum of Human Achievement. In 2017 they earned their BFA at the University of Texas at Austin and they currently work as the Programs and Events Manager at the Museum of Human Achievement.

From Saturday afternoon to the evening you may spot Julie sitting at the Butterfly Bar enacting a 1:1 durational performance with different artists in a series of ‘studio visits.’ Afterward, Julie will move to the main stage to be in conversation with Laura Gutiérrez, before the award celebration.

The QUEER LINE DANCING WITH COUNTRY FRIED DANCE workshop will start with an overview of line dance fundamentals, including: dance floor etiquette, the general format of a line dance, key terminology, and strategies for getting the most out of any dance lesson. After this brief introduction, we will get moving, starting with a quick warmup where we identify any body parts we should be mindful of when dancing. The rest of the time will be devoted to learning classic line dances as well as original choreography; the lessons are designed to reach all ages and experience levels, starting with absolute beginner friendly dances, and progressing at a pace that fits our group. In an effort to elevate queer voices, all dances will be done to bangers by queer artists!

Nico Steel Osier (they/them) is a nonbinary dance lover, turned accidental instructor and founder of Country Fried Dance (CFD), a vibrant country dance community that’s been putting line dancing back on the map in Austin Texas since 2023. In addition to teaching popular dances, Nico enjoys choreographing original pieces and has a penchant for pairing classic dances with popular songs. Nico is a former gifted kid and competition dancer, who invites dancers and non-dancers alike to heal their inner perfectionist at their joy-focused, technique optional country dance lessons.

Beth Schindler, (she/her) is an artist, curator & organizer living & working in Austin, TX. Working in textiles, video, photography, found materials & creating ephemeral installations for performance. Deeply committed to centering Dykes in inclusive spaces for all queers, she focuses on crafting creative & liberating experiences to connect in person & to learn & reimagine our history. Her recent, Lesbian Mapping Project has become an international success. With events like Power Snatch, Hickeys & HJs, Plum Crazies, Dyke Bar, Lesbian Wedding, Lesbian Touch, Gay Dregs, Austin Dyke March. She is the President of the non profit MASS Gallery in Austin, TX & focused on making it the gayest community art space in town. She also has a collaborative art partnership with Lex Vaughn as FFTWINZ.

SPECIALLY PRODUCED AMERICAN MEAT (SPAM) is the third iteration of AAPI artists Jay Carlon and Sungjae Lee’s collaborative performance series traversing themes of reclamation of the queer Asian American body. Inspired by Carlon’s dream of SPAM tied in shibari, the work examines the effects of U.S. and Japanese forces on Philippine and Korean lands during World War II, revealing how colonialism disrupts connections to land, community, and diaspora. Central to the piece is a dialogue between Carlon’s visceral dream imagery and Lee’s deeply personal archive, Men I Have Ever Met, a collection of 100+ encounters chronicling queer longing, shame, and connection. Moments of vulnerability reflect themes of desire, care, and navigating identity in predominantly white spaces. Together, they envision queer Asian futurity—a space of liberation and belonging where the body becomes both canvas and site of resistance. 

Jay Carlon is a Los Angeles-based artist, choreographer, and community organizer whose work spans site-specific interventions, dance film, gastronomy, cultural conversation, and concert stage, fostering shared healing while excavating post-colonial identity, ancestry, and the complexities of queer and Filipino diasporic experiences. Sungjae Lee is a Seoul-born, Chicago-based visual artist, educator, and writer whose practice centers around the visibility and varied representations of queer Asians.

In MAL DE LENGUAS, V CANTOS, an OUTsider commissioned piece, Carmina Escobar, Dorian Wood and Lechedevirgen unite as a three-headed beast that shares a single voice, the song of the ancient past that comes to sow terror and reap justice: “We have always been perceived as monsters; our hetero-dissident, trans, non-binary, racialized, and subalternized communities have been deemed monstrous by whiteness. Carmina Escobar is an extreme vocalist, improviser, performer, and sound and intermedia artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Escobar investigates and expresses emotions, politics, states of alienation, and the possibilities of interpersonal connection through voice performances, installations, and film/video pieces that seek to challenge our understandings of musicality, gender, queerness, race, the spoken word, and the foundations of human communication. 

Dorian Wood is anti-disciplinary and based in the U.S. Her intent of “infecting” spaces and ideologies with her creative practice is born from a desire to challenge traditions and systems that have contributed to the marginalization of people. 

Lechedevirgen is a non-binary artist in constant mutation, specialized in hybrid and expanded art forms, combining transvestism, performance, critical writing, image creation, photography and video. They specialize in the creation of acts of disobedience and symbolic revenge. Their work reflects on sexual dissidence, anti-colonialism, anti-racism, occultism, illness, violence and death.

Since its beginnings, Reggaetón & Perreo have been rooted in the resistance of Black, Brown and POC against white supremacy, police violence and all systems of oppression. Kaya Té invites you to join him for a night where we dance to honor being alive, to be in communion with our bodies and let the MONSTERS come out in this shared space, celebrating the closing of another life changing edition of OUTsider Fest. Straight from the Puerto Rican underground, music selector, performer and vibe curator Kaya Té has been on a mission of making asses twerk since 2016. Known for blending their Caribbean roots with hyper-pop and industrial sounds, he most famously used the San Juan cathedral as a stage during the Verano del 2019 protests, joining the many DJs of the legendary Perreo Combativo Night where Boricuas threw a massive party on the night the governor resigned (search “Telegramgate”). Acting as one of the resident DJs of ballroom collective LaBoriVogue from 2020-2022, he’s also soundtracked and organized many of their underground pop up balls in public spaces throughout the island. Operating from Oakland since 2022, Kaya Té uses inspiration from his life experiences to build live sets with intentionality, aspiring to use their time on earth to continue unifying QTBIPOC communities in the fight towards liberation and freedom for all oppressed peoples.
